By using AroundMadison you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. You must be at least 18 years old to create or maintain an AroundMadison account. We do not independently verify date of birth; you are responsible for this eligibility confirmation at registration.

Eligibility and accounts

• Account holders must be 18+. The 18+ rule applies to who may hold an account — not to whether community information may mention schools, youth sports, family events, missing children, or other legitimate local topics involving minors.
• You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your authenticated account. Keep your password secure. You can use Forgot password on the Sign In screen, or contact support for Admin-assisted recovery when needed. Admins never see your password.
• One authenticated personal account per person. You may manage one or more business identities from that account when authorized. Do not share login credentials.
• Accounts may be warned, suspended, or removed for abuse, spam, or other violations of these Terms or the Guidelines.

Content and license

You own the content you post. You grant AroundMadison a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for technical delivery, and distribute that content as needed to operate, moderate, and promote the service. You must have the rights to post what you share, including photos, video, and text. Audience controls (Public / Members / Friends where offered) limit who the product shows content to; they do not prevent recipients from copying or resharing.

Community, NOW, Events, Places

• Community discussions and NOW / community reports are neighbor observations. They are not automatically verified, official, or complete.
• Official / verified labels mean what the product indicates (for example control of an organization identity) — not that every statement is independently fact-checked.
• Events, Places, business listings, and media uploads (including native video where available) are subject to these Terms, the Guidelines, and applicable feature rules.
• Business claims and team/manager access do not transfer ownership or control of Google Business Profile or any third-party listing. Claiming a Google-linked place on AroundMadison only affects the AroundMadison profile.

Marketplace

AroundMadison provides a venue for neighbors to connect. Marketplace transactions are between members. We do not inspect, guarantee, insure, hold payments for, process payments for, deliver, or become a party to sales between users. See Marketplace Rules.

Messaging and media

Messaging (direct, group, Marketplace inquiry, and business-related threads where offered) is for legitimate local communication. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Moderators may access reports and limited administrative tools as needed for safety. Private message attachments use private storage paths. See Messaging Rules.

Third-party and official information

Weather, National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts and alerts, Google Maps/Places, imported Local Info sources, and other third-party data are provided for convenience and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Attribution is shown where required. AroundMadison does not guarantee accuracy or availability of third-party feeds.

Emergencies

AroundMadison is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for 911 or other emergency authorities. For life-threatening or urgent emergencies, contact local emergency services immediately. Urgent/emergency information on AroundMadison is never sponsored.

Moderation, reports, and blocks

We may review reported content and take action we consider appropriate, including hiding content or suspending accounts. We do not promise to review all content before publication, or any particular response time. Blocking is a personal safety control; reporting goes to Trust & Safety without revealing your identity to the reported member as a reporter.

Verification and sponsorship

• “Verified organization” (where shown) means AroundMadison has verified control of that identity — not that every statement is independently guaranteed.
• Paid sponsorship (when offered) does not buy Official status, factual verification, moderation immunity, suppression of legitimate criticism, or Trending influence. See Advertising & Sponsorship.

Intellectual property

Respect copyrights and trademarks. Copyright complaints: Copyright / IP. A formal designated DMCA agent may be published later; until then use Help / Contact.

Service availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. External links and third-party services are subject to their own terms.

Disclaimers

AROUNDMADISON IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Community content, traffic reports, weather, Places data, and imported sources may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AROUNDMADISON AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify AroundMadison and its operators against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Termination and deletion

You may stop using AroundMadison and request account deletion as described in Account Deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, limits of liability, and indemnification) survive termination.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply. Subject to those protections, disputes arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Indiana.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will include an updated “Last updated” date, and we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate. If you do not agree, stop using the service before the effective date.
