Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026 Time: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM Presenter: JCPL Location: Madison Auditorium Library: Madison Public Library Authors Invited to Participate in Jefferson County Public Library’s Author Fair The Jefferson County Public Library invites published authors to participate in its Author Fair, Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 1 p to 3:30p at Madison Public Library, 420 West Main Street. Meet other authors, connect with members of the community and promote your published works. Authors of fiction and nonfiction for any age are invited to participate, including self-published authors. To apply for a table at the JCPL Author Fair, submit a copy of your published book and an application form to the Madison Public Library. To register online, click on "Begin Registration" button at the bottom of this page.  Application deadline is Friday, October 9, 2026. Authors selected to participate will be notified by phone or email by October 16. Due to high interest and limited space, the Library reserves the right to curate a varied lineup that represents different types of work. Questions? Please contact Ann Inman, programming coordinator, at ann@mjcpl.org or 812/265-2744. Application Guidelines Participation in the JCPL Author Fair is by application only. Authors are responsible for their money, personal items, and products. The Library is not able to provide change, cashboxes or credit card readers. Authors who choose to accept electronic payments are responsible for payment setup and configuration. The Library cannot provide technical support. Authors may be asked to provide a photo or other promotional materials for publicity. The Library does not have the ability to accommodate banners or wall and ceiling hangings. The Library reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its discretion. Event Information The event venue will be open to the public on Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 1p – 3:30p. Participants can gain access to and setup their table beginning at 12p on the day of the event.   The Library will provide each author with one table, a table cloth, and two chairs. The author is responsible for cash boxes, signage, etc. There is no participation fee or admission charge for the event. Giving away free items such as bookmarks, samples, or business cards is permitted. A small prize drawing is permitted, provided there is no charge for entries. Interested authors must apply by October 9, using the attached form. For more information, contact Ann Inman, programming coordinator, at ann@mjcpl.org . ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Celebrate Writers at Jefferson County Public Library’s Author Fair On Saturday, November 7, the Jefferson County Public Library will be opening its doors to the public to experience the JCPL Author Fair. The Fair will be held in the Madison Public Library’s Auditorium from 1pm – 3:30pm.  Authors will give brief presentations of their work between 1:15 and 2:15pm.  JCPL’s free, public event will showcase authors who write for all ages and across a variety of genres. Browse author tables, meet the writers, discover new reads, and support local voices. Many authors will speak about their works and process, and will have books available for purchase and signing. Whether you are a lifelong reader and aspiring writer, or just looking for a fun literary outing, the JCPL Author Fair is a great opportunity to connect with the creative community.
