Home School Hangout: How We Learn!

Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Location: Madison Auditorium Library: Madison Public Library Did you know that not everyone learns in the same way? There are a variety of different learning styles and knowing which ones work best for you and your family members can help all of your lessons have more impact. We will explore a variety of learning styles (VARK: Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic) and take an inventory to learn your preferred learning style. Ms. Cherie will provide some tips for recognizing early learning signs of dyslexia and information about how to support learners with a various needs including those with learning disabilities, sensory processing and executive function. Choosing the right read for your age/ability using tools like the Five Finger Rule, Accelerated Reader and Lexile ratings will also be shared. All ages welcome. Location: Main Library Auditorium.
