Venue Spotlight: Clifty Falls State Park

This week's spotlight is Clifty Falls State Park, right on the edge of Madison at 2221 Clifty Drive, with entrances on State Roads 56 and 62. The park is known for its waterfalls, which change with the weather and the seasons, and for the rugged scenery of Clifty Canyon, with year-round hiking on 10 marked trails from easy to very rugged. There's also a nature center, picnic shelters, a campground, the Clifty Inn, and a StoryWalk on the paved loop near Clifty Shelter, put together by the Friends of Clifty Falls and the library. One heads-up from the park: Brough's Tunnel is closed indefinitely after a rockslide, so please stay clear of both tunnel entrances. Trail 5 is still open.
